There is often a lot to consider and weigh up before making the decision to undergo artificial insemination. At the Düsseldorf fertility clinic, we want you to benefit from our high standards and many years of experience throughout your fertility treatment. To this end, we draw on the VivaNeo network’s vast wealth of knowledge and continuously strive to improve ourselves. This is why we are able to offer you such a large number of different therapy options. These range from hormonal treatments to artificial insemination and surgery, for example if you suffer from endometriosis. We familiarise ourselves with your particular case and advise you on treatment options. Find out about our wide range of different treatments for artificial insemination in Düsseldorf here.
We recommend IVF treatment for those with fallopian tube problems or minor impairments in sperm quality. Similarly to ICSI treatment, the matured eggs are retrieved from the woman’s fallopian tube through aspiration and brought together with the male sperm in a culture medium for artificial insemination. The sperm cells must then autonomously penetrate the coat of the egg to fertilise it. Around 24 hours later, we check in our laboratory whether pronuclei have formed, marking the start of the pronucleus stage. A maximum of three fertilised eggs are then stored in an incubator and the embryos are transferred to the uterus two to three days after egg collection.
Artificial insemination by IVF is also possible with donor sperm in Düsseldorf. We work exclusively with sperm banks which thoroughly examine and select donor sperm before it is released for treatment. Find out more about IVF in Düsseldorf.
We recommend insemination if a woman’s cervix production is limited or impedes sperm fertilisation. Insemination is also a suitable therapy for those with limited sperm quality. In this procedure, the sperm is first washed and filtered. Around two hours later, the prepared sperm can then be transferred directly into the uterus using a fine catheter. This shortens the path through the vagina, increasing the chances of fertilisation. To find the right time for insemination, the treatment is often accompanied by hormonal stimulation of the ovaries.
Insemination can also be performed with donor sperm in Düsseldorf (heterologous insemination) if the man’s sperm quality is too limited or if treatment has been unsuccessful several times. Heterologous insemination can also be performed in the event of severe hereditary diseases. Find out more about insemination in Düsseldorf.
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) starts with hormonal stimulation. The matured ovarian follicles are then removed and prepared for artificial insemination. At the same time, we prepare the sperm in the laboratory and examine them under a microscope with 200x resolution. Under the microscope, a single sperm is inserted into each egg cell.
At the Düsseldorf fertility clinic, we have a new and refined procedure on offer for couples who have undergone unsuccessful ICSI treatment: intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection(IMSI). In this procedure, we examine the sperm under a microscope with 6500x magnification. This allows us to get an even closer look, making certain features of the sperm quality more clearly visible.
